Patches of weeds in lawn

During this year i neglected our lawn apart from usual cutting. I now notice large patches of different types of weeds. Is it too late to take action?

It's never too late to take action... you can apply some autumn feed for the grass with weed killer... just don't spread too much... weeds don't take long to spread around the grass, but come spring, you can apply the appropriate feed again for that season.
