Quick question, am just ordering my new passport and am putting it in my married name. Does anyone know if a photocopy of my marriage cert is enough or do i need to submit the original?

Just noticed (after submitting my application via post) that it was alot cheaper to have done it via passport express!!! Why is this?

  • Standard 10-year, 32-page passport (aged 18 and over): €80
  • Large 10-year 66-page passport (aged 18 and over): €110
  • 5-year passport (children aged 3-17 years): €26.50
  • 3-year passport (children aged under 3): €16
When applying in person at a Passport Office or by ordinary or registered post the fees are:

  • Standard 10-year, 32-page passport (aged 18 and over): €95
  • Large 10-year 66-page passport (aged 18 and over): €125
  • 5-year passport (children aged 3-17 years): €41.50
  • 3-year passport (children aged under 3): €31

They don't want people clogging up their offices. The public office fees are still too low to stop this.

have to get a new passport before august. looked up .
fee is 95 euro snailmail and passport express at post office costs 80 + 8.50 = 88.50

ok but the fee applies to postal applications as well??
Postal applications sent to the public offices.

Passport express applications are only dealt with at the Balbriggan facility which does not deal with the public.

Only original, just did daughters renewed passport and I signed form in married name where her birth cert had my maiden name...
