Hi ,

First time posting here. I hope this is right place as wasnt sure whether to put query here or in Ask about Business.

Two of my friends are in partnership together. Year end coming up in february so they are starting to look for an accountant. They have done books manually up to now as one of them works in accounts, but do they have to get an accountant to sign off their accounts or can the just fill in the relative forms themselves, being Form 1 for the business then form 11 each.

Many thanks for any responses. I did do a search so hopefully i not duplicating anyone.

Nope they do not need an accountant to sign off on them, unlike a company audit. However unless they are 100% sure that they can produce accurate accounts and tax returns, they should engage an accountant.

Under the irish self assessment tax system it is there responsibility to get it right.
