I was reading through the posts and cant seem to find any that may help me, if this is mentioned somewhere already sorry for the repeat but here goes anyway.

I have been working in the same part time job for 3 years and finished college last year and cant find a full time job( nothing new im sure) but my hours at work have been going down and now im bearly getting 15 hours some weeks, when i started i was getting close to 30 hours a week but with the reduced hours im finding it hard.
I was just wondering if anyone know whether id be eligible to claim some sort of welfare or assistance.
also my days of work vary from 3 to 4, i have seen in some articles that 4 days a week might rule me out of a payment is this accurate or is it just a reduced rate because of the 4th day.
also i have been applying for full time jobs and i dont live at home. Il be heading in to the socila welfare office for a chat i was just wondering if im wasting my time.

Thanks

Generally you are allowed to claim for the days you don't work. If you are under 25 you may be affected by the reduced allowance. If I were you i would make an application anyway - you have nothing to lose. Also if you are paying rent once you get social welfare see if you qualify for the rent allowance and also apply for the medical card.

if you could get more hours on sunday than in the rest of the week that would be of benefit because sunday doesn't count as a "work" day for benefits/allowances.
