Part Time & Social Welfare

Hi everyone. I'm looking for some advice here. I rang the social welfare and they are not too helpful.

I was working full time for the last 3 years in an office. I was also studying part time to do beauty therapy. In Nov i decided to leave my job and work in a different company doing 3 days. I was hoping to do beauty therapy for the other two days - i wanted to set up my own mobile beauty business from home to supplement my income.

That was all going to plan until my husband had an accident and is now out of work. I tried getting another part time job but cant. Now i dont know if i will be entitled to any jobseekers allowance/benefit as i left my full time job myself.

Anyone have any advice? I am already behind in my bills this month and now have no idea how we will get money together for our mortgage next month aswell as our two loans and all other bills. I'm really really worried.

If you are available for and looking for full-time work, then you can claim Jobseeker's for the days you are not working.

if your husband is injured he should be able to claim injury benefit which should help you
