hi guys,

Can anyone help me here. I can't seem to get full time employment so have to look at part time work as a substitute for right now.

I was on Jobseeker's Benefit for roughly 9 months then I was put on Job Seekers Allowance. I was on this 3 months then I broke my hand so they informed me I had to go on Illnes Benefit. I was on this for roughly 4 months then I was put back onto Job Seekers Allowance and I have been on this for roughly 13 months.

Because my welfare claim was broken for 4 months over breaking my hand would I not be entitled to this benefit as the job seekers claim was stopped for a bit over been on illness benefit. I believe its 15 months or longer to be entitled to this i have roughly 25 months in all but a break of 4 months in between.

It would be great if someone who knows could help me as I'm new to all this.

I am also looking for information on the part-time job incentive initiative?

Thanks.

If you have a read of this Jobseeker's Allowance information you should be able to familiarise yourself with your entitlements.

Jobseeker's Benefit information is here also.

I think you are confused as to the duration of the Jobseeker's Benefit which is now 12 months and not 15 months as it used to be . If you had exhausted your Benefit claim and were transferred onto Jobseeker's Allowance, then Illness Benefit and back to Allowance surely there is nothing to be gained as you have rightly reverted to the Allowance again?

The information on the Part-Time Job Incentive Scheme is here.

The duration of Jobseeker's Benefit is 9 or 12 months, depending on the total number of PRSI contributions you have made. It was reduced from 15 months in 2008.
