I am married and currently on maternity leave. If l was to return to work for a 2 day week at €17000. Could my husband then pay me through his company ( that l do payroll etc for) €8000 a year to bring up to the €25000 bracket? How would this work with the second income, would l be taxed at 41% as l would not have any tax credits for this job as all would be on first job? Also what would happen with PRSI payments as l believe that on earning €17000 l would not have to pay any just the company would pay their part so then what PRSI code would l be on with the second job? My husbands company is only small but is to be ltd and therefore does include implications with my PRSI as l may be a named director?
