Part-Time Degree Funding

Folks,

I am thinking of applying to do the Msc in IT Management in NUI Maynooth Part-time over 24 months.

I have a full-time job in IT but as my job role isnt in IT Management my company will not pay anything towards the cost of it. It wil cost €6995 a year to do part-time which I possibly could afford but with family to look after I am trying to hold onto that savings.

I would be interested to know if I did pay the fee outright is there anyway of cliaming some of it back through tax etc?

You can claim a percentage of fees in approve institutions back against tax. It's 20% which is not much but better than nothing. See http://www.revenue.ie/en/tax/it/leaflets/it31.html

It may also be worthwhile seeing if any of the qualifications which come under the Graduate Skills Conversion Programme may be relevant to you. These programmes are all 2,750 euros per year, which is considerably less than the 6,995 you mentioned above. I can't post links yet, but you would find the list of programmes on the HEA website. The programmes specifically in Maynooth for 2012/2013 are:
