I need to send a parcel to Australia. I'm not sure of the exact weight yet as I haven't put it together.

I'm estimating it will weigh c10kg and according to An Post it will cost €80 to send by standard post.

Are there any cheaper alternatives?

Have you calculated the dimensional weight? May not be relevant in your case but it might turn out more than 10 Kg.

(Usually, dimensional weight = length x width x height (in cm) divided by 6000)

Hi Caveat,

Not yet. I've to get up to the attic tonight to dig out some folders and take it from there. The price I got was from An Post website and I'm just estimating 10kg. It could be more of less.

Thanks.

€80 seems an alright price - I don't think you would get it much cheaper.

Most of the well known couriers (e.g. DHL, TNT, UPS) will probably be more expensive anyway.
