Panted Red-Brick, I want original front back

I own a red-bricked house and the brick was painted over some time ago. I now want to get rid of the paint and get the original front back. A friend of mine has said that I'll have to be careful how I go about doing it as the brick could crumble under high pressure. Also what price would I be looking at paying for the different options? Many thanks,

The Easiest way is to have the front of it sandblasted.Check out the golden pages and get a few quotes,make sure they know what they're doing i.e. all windows must be covered and sealed etc.Then your brick work will have to be painted with a sealer to ensure it's not porous etc.
 
Is there any danger of the brick crumbling away when you do this? Is it exspensive?
