Can anybody recommend a panic button system that works that does not require a landline from eircom.
Id like to get rid of the landline as its costing too much for the value we get but the panic button is required.
Ideally i like something similar, a big red button that can be placed in one location that can be clicked at any time and just works.
Not sure about the idea of mobile phones as they are too hard to operate and need to be recharged often.

Many thanks,
eb

There are mobile phones with very large buttons available. You can get a phone on pay as you go systems, can cost you as little as €10 each year, and they are not difficult to work.
You should go to your local library or Citizens information Centre and they will point you in the direction of somebody to show you how to operate the system
I see no reason why they cannot substitute for a land line.

If you fail to get the information you need, contact Age Action in Dublin and they will direct you to your nearest source of information. 01 475 6989

As far as I know Task have a unit which doesn't require landline but I think most of the alarm providers now have a unit for which you buy a gadget which means unit can be used without landline
