Panasonic TV.. problem changing channels

Just bought a TX37LZD80 and I love it but, when I change channel, it takes about 5 seconds to display the newly selected channel??????????
Is this the norm for an LCD tv?

If I use the up/down button , it works instantly

any advice welcome

If you are selecting a single digit channel and just press one digit there is a delay while it works out what you want. For example, if your press '3' it waits to see if you want channel three or if you are going to press a second digit for a channel in the range 30-39.

But if you press '03' it should change instantly.
