Forgive the stupid question, but i use one of the above for free to air viewing.
At night should the box be left on standby or should it be switched off at the socket point.
The reason i ask is because i used to leave it on standby overnight but it started to loose the epg after a couple of days useage and the message "searching for signal" would appear. To get around this problem i would have to swich the box off for a couple of minutes and then it would resolve itself.

Installers recommend leaving the box on standby overnight as sometimes satallites send updates to the boxes which cannot be received if the box has been plugged out.

on stand by is not the same as switching off the plug socket itself
