The paint on our shower room ceiling and some of the wall paint has flaked off, presumably from moisture. We have since installed an extractor fan and I want to re-paint the ceiling and am looking for recommendations on (a) the type/brand of paint to use and (b) the ceiling plaster is a bit discolored with black mould so how should I treat that before painting? Thanks, Slim.
There is special bathroom/kitchen paint available.
As for mould, let it dry, buy a spray that kills it and re-paint. I bought spray before, while expensive it did work. Think some people I read recommend regular bleach.
There's a set of cleaning products called HG. Woodies stocks them. I used HG Mould Spray on bathroom mould and it both kills it and bleaches stains. Works like magic. That said, it's just ammonia bleach as far as I know. Use plenty of ventilation -- it stinks and its very toxic.
