Painting roof tiles

I live in a 1970,s bungalow, I’m planning on painting the roof tiles which have become very faded, I’ve always liked the Teracotta colour you very often see on houses in the likes of Germany, my wife thinks such a colour is too out of step with cultural norms in Ireland. It’s true you rarely see it here I suppose?
