Hello, We have had some plastering work done at home, It is dried out so now it is time to paint it, I painted a small patch on the hall wall before the rad went back on and it looks very streaky, Should I sand the wall first and then use a watered down emulsion and then paint with our choice of colour, To be honest I have painted our house top to bottom twice but never over new plaster, Any advice would be appreciated, Thanks.
Hi. If it's smooth hardwall there should be no need to sand, unless it's rough in places. New hardwall soaks up paint so you may need to lash on several coats of emulsion, each layer less watered down than the last. When you have a decent white layer, you can paint the colour on.
