Paint stripping

Hi,

Am trying to remove paint from the bannisters in my house. Its white paint which has green paint under it. The house is old which means they are probably lead based paints.

I've tried using Nitromore, which only removes the top coat of the white paint (not all of the white paint)

Can anyone recommend anything else I could use.

Hi,

If you have read thru this key post you will see on page 1 where a recommendation for Klingstrip is given. There is also some discussion on it in this thread.

I note there is also a warning given not to sand the old paint in case of lead content.

If you send a private message to he might be able to give you some further advice.
