P45 When should i get it

Hi,
I've been made redundant or let go... I was only 7 months in job.

i'm being paid my notice period
finishing tommorow, but will be paid in april for 1 months notice.

my question is
- when should i get my p45 tommorow or the last day in april?,
- and also, can i sign on dole on friday 1st?? which would be officially my 1st day i'm available for work.
- should this employer give me a letter stating that i've been made redundant tommorow stating - when and why?
- and finally should i get a RP50 form

HR is a disaster in here and I want my facts right before taking their word for it

Sorry, I kinow this doesn't answer your question per say. But that site has a wealth of well laid out, easy to understand information. Well worth a visit.
 
If you are serving out your notice period, then you are considered to be still employed, and not eligible for Jobseekers payment until your notice period ends. When you do make your Jobseekers application you will be asked however to provide information on what efforts you have been making over the interim period to look for work.

If you have only been in employment for 7 months, then you will not receive any statutory redundancy payment, (any payment that you receive will be ex-gratia) and therefore will not receive the RP50, which is for the statutory payment.

As you are still employed until end of April you should not receive your P45 until then. If for some reason you don't get it then, you can ask for a letter to bring with you to make your Jobseekers application.
