Could anybody tell whether a P45 must be filled in on an official revenue form (like the P60) or whether the just the relevant details (Gross Pay, Tax deducted, etc) on company paper suffices? I had always assumed the former but am not 100% sure.
I guess that answers my question in that it needs to be an official revenue form. The backround is that a relative just received her P45 on a document that her previous company created and then filled in some of the relevant details.
The comparision to the P60 was in terms of whether it must be an official form (in the way the the P60 is) and not in terms of content.
It's not a P45 if it's not on an official Revenue/Welfare P45 form. She should double check to make sure that any deductions made from salary were remitted (e.g. tax, PRSI, health levy etc.).
