P45 for employee

Hi

I have a small business where I emloyee 2 people. I have had to let one of them go and now need to get them a P45.

I do my own revenue returns. Could somebody please tell me the process for getting a P45 for employees in this instance. Can the P45 be requested through ROS

You create the P45 from the payroll data you maintained on their tax deduction card. If you are doing this yourself then you know what I mean. If you do not maintain the payroll records yourself then the person who does them for you will know what to do. The P45 is blank, you complete the data, you can upload to ROS or file online on ROS then print the actual form for the employee.

One further question however relating to P45's. I am completing one for an employee who has worked for me for a number of years. She left in Feb(09) for maternity and returned in Sept(09).

This should not impact how I fill out the form, i.e. just complete the number of insurable weeks, tax and pay to reflect what was collected for 09
