Overview of all associated costs when buying a house?

Hi There,

Can anyone please advise what costs other than the standard conveyancing costs are generally incurred in a property purchase?

Thanks in advance and apologies if this question has been asked already - I couldn't find any earlier threads that answered it.

Not sure what you mean.

You should do a breakdown of costs as follows:

1. Cost of house + stamp duty ( if applicable) + legal fees and all outlays ( solicitor should give you an all inclusive figure)
2. Total to be funded how? Mortgage? Savings? this money is all needed on or before closing date.
3. How are you going to furnish house? Wing and a prayer? old stuff you have ? or a figure to add to the above?

Surveyor's fee, for a standard semi-d around the 300-400 mark

Don't forget the cost of Mortgage protection, and building and contents insurance.
