Along the lines of the overheard in dublin books I had to share this,
on my way into work in a taxi this morning having a chat about the state of the roads with the snow. I said to the taxi driver I would normally drive into work but was nervous of driving in the snow. He then said,
'I'm not being racist but I think most women don't like driving in this weather'

Priceless.

Nice.

Earlier I overheard two young girls having a discussion on the main street in Athlone

Girl 1. Its great to see you anyway, Mary's looking great isn't she
Girl 2. Mary has nice clothes
Girl 1. Yeah... Mary does have nice clothes..
Girl 2. I used to have nice clothes before I was sent to prison

The youth of today!

'Ah sure, that's lovely , what did she call her?'
'Well, it's like this, Josie, there's 147 saints in the Irish calendar of saints, and what does she do but call her after a f.....ing nut!!! Hazel !!!

Overheard in the Coombe Outpatients.

When are you due, you mustn't have long more?
No, only till Fri. Just saw my fellow and he's bringing me in on Friday to seduce me!!!

Two girls relating a nervewracking incident:

"Jaysus I'm tellin' ya - me heart was pounding - y'know, like when you're robbin' "

A man goes to the nursing home to visit his 84 year-old father. While there he notices the nurse is giving his father hot chocolate and Viagra.

The man asks, “Why are you doing that? I mean, at his age what will it do for him?”

The nurse explains, “The hot chocolate will help him sleep.”

The man says, “And the Viagra?”

“Keeps him from falling out of bed.”
