Overgrown garden

I own a rented house with a massive back garden which has overgrown due to laziness/neglect on my behalf. The part of the garden that is overgrown is seperated with a large fence from the house.

Is there a product I can use to kill the grass and weeds? I hope to put down loose stone chippings next year.

Thanks in advance.

In my experience, I find "Roundup" to be the best!!! if it's very overgrown it will probably take a couple of applications. you should see it starting to die after about two weeks..

This garden is about 35' by 18'. Is it expensive to buy large quantity?

No, there was a thread earlier on in the summer about roundup, I think I paid around 25e for a 1 litre container and that quantity would be more than sufficient for you.

And make sure it's a very still day. The neighbours won't be too happy if you kill their plants.
