over rev at idle

I have a Skoda Octavia 01, 1.6L when the car is idling, the car ever so slightly is revving up you can see the rev counter go up slightly and then drop again. Also you can feel the vibration of the over rev in the car. Any body got any ideas as to what may be causing this?
 
It may be the idle air control valve sticking a bit. If it is, get some carb cleaner and spray it into the air inlet AFTER the airfilter while the engine is running. It may take a few tries but will clear up. Otherwise use some fuel system cleaner in your tank.
I did both and the problem cleared in a few days. Must have been really bad....
