Outsourcing payroll - how is this costed?

I'm just wondering how much is charged by service providers (very much ball park) to have a payroll of say 400 people outsourced. I've looked at what some service providers say and it's very loose such as "Our fee is based on the number of employees, frequency of pay (weekly, fortnightly, monthly etc.) and your individual requirements."

Would anyone have any idea what kind of cost might be involved for a group of 400 people mixed between forthnightly / monthly employees.

I'm looking to do a cost benefit analysis and any help would be much appreciated.

We have a couple of employers with similar
numbers of employers,
A very rough figure would be .80 c per employee per pay period.

As I say it's a rough idea, and it's a good idea to get recommendations of providers from
friends if you can.

I had about 40/45 euro per employee per annum which would work out around the same for a weekly payroll.
