Having switched over from eircom dialup to eircom broadband a friend of mine cannot access her email using Outlook express. Would anyone know if the servers or connections option needs to be changed from the Tools\Accounts menu?

That shouldn't matter, problem could be in how it connects to internet,
Look at Tools>Options>Connection>Internet Connection Settings
You should see a list of connections including your old dial-up and new broadband, you should select the new one and set it as default. Also click "never dial a connection" checkbox too.
