out of court settlement, how long until funds are rec'd?

Just wondering, settlement offered (through solicitors)- agreed subject to receipt of payment within 7 days, how long will i actually have to wait to receive payment? i'm sure it is not as simple as i will receive payment within 7-10 days - or is it???

Yes - As soon as the solicitor receives the funds you should be informed and paid. They may have to wait a few days for a cheque to process but I would ring the solicitor in 7 days and ask what progress has been made.

Could be up to 3-4 weeks, particularly if the case was being defended by an insurance company.

no insurance co involved. A debtor who has offered to settle and offer was accepted - who does debtor make payment to, Solicitor or me?
