I suffer from sever sweating from my head (dripping down my hair). I have consulted my doctor who put me on various tabs to no avail. I wonder if anybody out there has the same problem and could suggest any Homeo or OTC remedy

Homeopathy is taking diluted water. You might as well pour it over your head for all the good it does.

There might be a herbal cure which should not be confused with homeopathy.

Cut your hair short - shaved. Worked a treat for me.

On a related note, I've just started working in a new office in last 3 weeks. For the first time, I've been confronted by numerous people giving themselves doses of deodorant at their desks, and sometimes at frequent intervals during the day.

I've known people to have deodorant in desk drawers for hot days like we're experiencing now, but never before at their desks - presumably they were used in bathrooms.
It's actually disturbing me at this stage because I'm getting lungfuls of Sure/Lynx and whatever the ladies are using 3 or 4 times a day at the moment.
Is this a common occurrance in Dublin?

Thanks John, cutting my hair short may help. Don't kmow about shaving it though.
Brendan, your'e probably right that I was bulking home and herbal together. Will I possibly get herbal stuff in a health shop

As a 'heavy sweater', I too would be interested in any suggestions here. My own partial solution is to make sure I have a supply of good old-fashioned hankerchiefs available for mopping up.

My hubby suffers from excessive sweating and has been to visit a skin specialist in cork who recommented that he use Aveeno shower cream and to moisturise well with Aveeno Daily. The one that he prescribed was the one with the green stripe on the bottle and also to use dricol. He is much improved thankfully, but like everyone else with our heatwave the water is dropping off his head (he keeps his hair very short) and I just keep my hair tied up in weather like this.

(At some stage a lady in a health shop suggested to dilute peppermint oil and use after the shower. I think that that helped a little as well. Avoid spicy foods as well.)

Its a little price to pay for such good weather!

In the Sunday Indo Life magazine, the beauty advisor suggested putting Milk of Magnesia (sp?) on to your skin with your fingers. It dries clear and is supposed to be a very good. You could also try a health food store that sells crystals and ask them their advice.

Dont know if I agree with that as it can be quite embarassing for the person who suffers with and for some people this is a lifelong thing that cant be cured by otc remedies

I've read that a side effect of botox is that it stops sweating! You can get wrinkles/lines in forehead done (if any) and stop the problem at the same time. Bonus!!

Yes this is true. I work in Beauty Industry and was going to have this done but its €500ish. What they do is give you 4 does, like a cross shape in underarms (hate that pit word!). Lasts up to 10 months. However the sweat has to come out somewhere, so likely places are chest/cleavage and/or lower back.
