Options for "bit of warm weather" in Dec/Jan

Looking at the possibility of heading away for a few days after Xmas and ringing in the New Year there within a reasonable flying distance i.e. less than 3hrs. Have I any options or does my <3hrs requirement rule them out? Not looking for 30degree temps, just looking for a bit of pleasant sunshine that we can do a bit of sightseeing with the two kids in tow.
