Opinions on Renault Megane Saloon Diesel 1.5

I am considering buying a Renault Megane Saloon Diesel 1.5 and looking for opinions from anyone who owns/ has owned one.

Reasons for buying:
Looking for a medium sized car with a good sized boot
Looking for a relatively small diesel (reduced car tax) with good fuel efficiency, Megane is 60mpg.

Also, any other cars that fit the above criteria ??
Any problems that Renault cars would be associated with??
I have about 20K to spend, will be buying second hand.

I had one as a rental last year and found it was underpowered, I wouldn't recommend it for driving long distances. As a town car it would be ok I guess.

Poor build quality. Relatively unreliable.

Check Parkers and Honest John.

You can buy a much better diesel car with your €20k.
