Opinions On Renault Laguna 03-04

Hi,

I'm thinking of changing my car in the next few months and was thinking about an 03-04 Laguna, either 1.6 or 1.8 petrol. What do people think of these cars? Any information would be welcome.

Personally I would never consider any Renault (apart from maybe a Clio).

Just way too many problems and lose too much money. The 03/04 should be better than the previous and better than a Megane, but still, no thanks.

Avoid, that particular shape has no end of problems. Colleague got his 03 serviced a few weeks back, 3,100 ! Buy a jap model instead even if it is older.
 
3,100 for a service! Was this just a routine service? It must have had some major problems to cost that much. I have been looking at buying one of these cars but have heard nothing but negative comments about them.
 
Recovery times from bankruptcy and divorce are significantly shorter than from the stresses of Renault ownership, IME (Sorry Bill).

To be avoided.
