Operating websites to foreign markets and tax implications

Hi everyone,

First time poster! Hello to everybody.

I have a query that may be suited more for an accountant or solicitor, although I figured I'd post here to see if anyone operates a similar business and knows about this matter.

I am developing a series of websites for several different world markets (Canada, Australia, USA, etc.) and am wondering about charging tax for the products/services sold on these websites. I know if I were to develop a website for Ireland, that VAT would have to be charged on all products/services sold on that Irish site to the Irish public.

Does anyone know how this works with other countries besides Ireland when my business (sole trader) is based in Ireland, as in- do I need to charge the full VAT amount on an American/Canadian/Australian website even though people from these countries don't normally pay Irish VAT?

Any pointers to steer me in the right direction would be appreciated!

Cheers
