Opel Corsa 1999 - stuttering in second gear

I have an opel corsa 1999. It has started stuttering in second gear. This stops after about 2 minutes of putting your foot to the floor. Got it serviced and mechanic said he couldn't locate the problem. The diagnostics which he used didn't show anything wrong. Any suggestions?
 
needs a new air flow meter
non genuine ones available from your local motor factor
fitting takes 5 mins though special tool required - again from motor factor
 
He said that he serviced the car fully. I'll check the receipt and see if he has fitted an air flow filter.
 
Air flow filter was fitted alright. New problem though, engine management light is coming on when you try and accelerate to overtake..thanks for your help.
 
air filter is not air flow meter!


from memory the air flow meter is about €120 + labour

light is on because ecu is detecting fault
 
Any suggestions on where this should be done? Opel garage or other local mechanic?
 
CSL. Have the exact same problem with the wife's corsa. Can you let us know if a new air flow sensor fixes the problem?
Corsas seem to be notorious for this and other sensor problems

I wouldn't use airflow meter from auto factors.Get one from main dealer it'll last much longer.
