Hi,
I'm looking for a decent online broker service, ideally with real time quotes, good execution and a wide range of indices.

I've narrowed it down to Davys as their commissions arent too bad and its local(transactions in Euros etc), but have no experience of their platform.

Or Internaxx, commissions are ok, you can select a currency and trade a wide range of instruments. But again have no experience of the platform.

If anyone has used either and would care to comment it would be appreciated.

Interactive brokers will probably be mentioned but I dont fancy putting my money into Dollars at the moment.

Thanks

Hi Sold
What kind of commissions are Davy charging? I know Davy use City index to supply their CFDs. City index dont provide a level 2 service ( so you cant see the order book). I use Renaissance Financial Markets.. [broken link removed].. I find them excellent..based in Dublin and so easy to contact..Great platform for online trading and spot on phone service when ur away from ur pc..dont know about internaxx..but i rather dealing with an irish crowd than trying to call abroad to place trades..

Hi fellas thanks for the replies,

Davy charge 25 per trade and reduced to 15 for regular traders, which is pretty reasonable given the local backup available.
The lack of level 2 would bother me though, but I may end up going for a seperate data feed.
I'm trying ADVFN's basic package at the moment, which is ok but a bit inconsistent for my liking.

Daytrader... do RFM deal in derivatives only?

praetserge.... that was my worry with internaxx, plus they are backed by Fortis who aren't exactly rock solid at the moment.
I've read mixed reviews of their service but they do seem to offer a broad range of indexes/products.

rfm.ie specialise in CFDs. They provide a state of the art platform with a real time news feed and live prices/level 2. You can phone trades in when you're away from your pc. You can trade from under 20bps/trade..obviously alot lower if you're an active trader....Probably the lowest cost Irish broker around considering you are getting the platform for nothing too..u can trade indexes like the FTSE or DOW for a flat rate of £10 with RFM..and they didnt mind me opening account with a small deposit
