hi folks,its me first post...im on jobseekrs allowance at the moment,im a single dad with 3 kids..as from tomorrow im sending forms in for one parent family,im 100 pernt near certain ill get it,but i was thinking,does it take long for this to be processed??and in the mean time will my job seekers be stopped???im still seeking work as we speak,

It can take several weeks for your one parent family to come through. Your claim for Jobseeker's should continue in the meantime. If it's stopped before you get sorted on your other claim, you can call to the CWO at your local health centre, and ask about a weekly payment from him/her until your one parent family claim is sorted.

Hi, i applied for one parent family allowance in dec'09, The inspector called to the house in feb and i expected to be in payment shortly after that, but it is still with decisions, they say it can take up to 7 months. Im still receiving jobseeks benefit and the opf will be back dated.
