One Parent Family to What? Anything?

I currently receive OPF payment, my bf & I would love to move into together, I have 2 children & am already under a severe amount of financial pressure. I apply for jobs everyday. Have childcare in place with a family member, but I just cant find anything, probably the same as most people.

I only work 3 hours a week over one day, netting €32 per week in addition to my OPFP. BF also works part time shift days being 5/7 so can include sundays & usually does, earning approx €250.

Can anyone please advise me on what would be the best option for us to move forward ? Job seekers allowance? If so, would anyone be able to estimate the rate.

I tried calling local SW office but there's no answer & inspectors office said theyd call back but havent yet!

If you are eligible for Jobseekers, then the best way will be for you to apply for Jobseekers (without your boyfriend on your claim, and only claiming half rate for the children), and your boyfriend could apply for Family Income Supplement.

With those figures you should be entitled to the following (approx):

Wages for yourself - 34
Wages for your boyfriend - 250
Reduced Jobseekers payment for yourself - 160
Family Income Supplement (applied for by your boyfriend) - 95

Total family income - 539/week

This probably is as much, or not much less than you're receiving on your One Parent Family Payment.

As your boyfriend is working full-time you'll not be eligibe for rent supplement or mortgage interest supplement.
