One parent family payment

Hi I am due my second baby in july and just wondering what i will need to do to add him onto my loan parent allowance? Will i have to start over with new claim and fill in all forms and give documents again or can I just add new baby?

Hi,

As you are already on Lone Parent's Allowance it might just be a matter of getting the extra weekly payment for child number 2.

If you give the Lone Parent's section a ring in Sligo on monday on 1890 500 000 or 071 915 7100 they will tell you what you need to do. It doesn't say anything about it on this webpage;

You can just apply for an increase for your second child.

You should be able to do this at your nearest Social Welfare Local Office, or, as Steiner mentioned, by contacting the Dept at the numbers listed above.
