Hello

I am on jobseekers benefit and had to pay over €80 today for medication and €50 doctors fees - which I cannot afford. Any advice would be greatly appreciated on if I can claim any of this back? I know my wife and I can claim tax back on it at yearend but anything else. Regards

If anyone spends over, (I think) about €100 or €125 in a month for prescriptions they can claim back any money spent over these limits.
Go back to your Pharmacy and ask for a receipt as you have to keep these in order to claim a refund. They will also explain how it works.

If Jobseeker's Benefit is the only household income, you may be entitled to a medical card - you can get more information on www.hse.ie or at your local health centre.

You may be able to appy for a medical card or GP visit card.
