Very interesting article about Enda Hunston and Hunston Financial Services by Charlie Weston

The Financial Services Ombudsman has made two rulings against Hunston Financial Services. He has appealed both of them. One of them has been upheld by the High Court. The other has yet to go to court. The Ombudsman is investigating 6 other complaints against Hunston Financial Services.

Last week the High Court found Mr Hunston had hidden from nurse Mary Gallagher the fact that he actually owned two properties in Darlington, England, in which he advised her to invest in back in 2004.

The fact that Mr Hunston owned the properties meant he had a conflict of interest in advising her to buy them, she pointed out.

It was only after Ombudsman Meade and his staff used their powers to force the release of documents that Mr Hunston admitted he owned the apartments. This was two years after the deal was completed.

Mr Hunston had threatened to sue the nurse when she wrote to him asking him if he had owned the two apartments.
In a judgment handed down by Judge Bryan McMahon last week, the High Court said Mr Hunston's behaviour towards the nurse was "intimidatory" and "puzzling".

Mr Hunston, of Square Capital and also of Hunston Financial Planning, had argued that he had merely acted as a property intermediary and not as a financial adviser.

The full High Court decision is [broken link removed].

I can't find anything on Square Capital or Hunston Financial Planning through Google. Does anyone know anything about them?
