house has laminate flooring in all downstairs rooms. Other half not a great fan. Looking to get costs and advice on how best to get oldstyle floorboards put down. They would need to look like they had always been there and just found rather than bought in shop to keep all happy:)

Put down new boards, then hire a toddler to traipse all over them, dragging and dropping toys as they go :D

try a salvage shop, they can 'roughen' the boards up to make them look old.

Hi Mpob
I was looking in the Victorian Salvage Company and they do them - from what I could see you then need to get them sanded and laquered but they looked v nice - they are in Dublin 2

Hey,
We got some lovely ones recently in Macs Reclamation Yard in Islandbridge. They were made from reclaimed beams as far as I know which were over 100 years old. We sanded and varnished them and they came up really well.
Good luck :)

I bought reclaimed boards from ST Salvage on South Circular Rd. They had a good selection and were reasonable.
