Old CRT - symbol on screen that I can't remove

I have an old Ferguson tube tv that I'm using for a project - I don't have the remote - when I switch it over to the AV channel, an on screen symbol appears - Its kind of like a square with an arrow in it. It appears on the bottom right of the screen - I believe its the AV symbol, but how do I get rid of it. I've had a wander round the web but I'm not seeing anything.
Any ideas?

You could always try a universal remote , but it might be a custom button.

Try ebay for a real remote for that model.
