Hi, I had a bank account with AIB which I haven't used since 1997. Will I still be on their system as an account holder?

Probably regarded as a dormant account - Government takes any cash in it, but will pay out to owner if owner comes to claim at a later date.

What if it is the other way round and you may have owed them money???

It would be statue barred at this stage, but I wouldn't expect to ever got an account with them again...
