I seem to have a problem with my Oil Burner. I switched the oil on the other day, after awhile i could hear like a crackling noise in the ceiling. Eventually the oil heating went off and the Oil Burner went off. When i tried to switch it back on, it wouldnt light.

Their is oil in the tank.

Any help with be of great help.

Thanks

any chance of a leak in pipes ?

the boiler will lock out if it doesn't get water

bit more info required.

How do you switch it on exactly?

Crackling noise in ceiling - is there a leak?

Go out to burner and see if there is a red light on front of box - when heating switched on it press it again.

Very possible that you (or someone) may have turned some valves during the summer (those red ones) and water cannot circulate - locating this is not a straightforward job. You may find that your boiler has locked out due to overheating - locating this is not a straightforward job for the inexperienced.

Is there is gauge which tells you the pressure of the system - what does it read?
