Offer from latest DCC draw for Herberton Apartments in Dublin 8

Hi,

I was offered a 2 bed apartment in Herberton from the latest draw :). I got the phone call 4 weeks ago but still waiting to view the property.

Has anyone else been offered an apartment in Herberton? If so have they been told the same? Does it usually take this long? Would not mind waiting after seeing apartment but having not seen it yet the waiting is hard. :confused:

Is there parking available for the affordable apartments?

Has anyone got any information that can help please?

Hi Delphi,

These apartments are also being sold privately, so you can view a show apartment through Hooke & MacDonald Estate agents. I'm not sure if there are any major differences between the privately sold units and the AH ones, but I'm sure it will give you an idea.

I tried to go that route ie get an appointment as a private buyer with the Belmayne development as I was offered one of those apartments in the last draw with DCC. H and McD are selling them privately and I found the experience a complete waste of time....maybe it was just the person I got but she was useless...had no keys with her, couldn't or maybe it was more a case of wouldn't confirm if there were affordable units in the development, I saw the plans and there's room for a LOT more development than I initially thought but she hadn't any idea as to to when it would be completed or how many dwellings might actually end up in the development.
For 2 beds that are going for 340k on the open market I'm glad I wasn't a keen private buyer, dying to part with some money :)
 
Still waiting to view apartment plus they cant guarantee that it will include a car parking space. Some apartments will have parking while others will not. Depends were I am on the list. So fingers crossed. I would go mad if I had to sell the car.
 
Just to let you know, I waited for nine months to view a property after I received the call saying my name had been chosen by DCC.

Just an update if your still waiting to view.

I have just put a deposit down on a 2 bed apartment with parking in Block B. All the appliances are included (never had a dishwasher so I think thats fab). Some apartments will have parking while some will not and your right it depends on where you are on the list. I didnt get the apartment that I wanted and decided to take the apartment that had parking. I was very lucky to get a parking space at all (€220,000 without parking and €240,000 with parking). The affordable apartments also include an ensuite.

Well done Delphi! That sounds great. I was talking to the girl from DCC and she told me I'm somewhere in the middle of the list. I would like a car space too if I can get one. It's great to hear that you get the dishwasher etc included. Were you able to include the parking space as part of the mortgage? I thought that was a no no.

Yes, I got the parking space as part of the mortgage. I got approval of €240,000 which covered the price of the apartment and parking. Hope you get what you want. Did the girl say that there were parking spaces still available? The waiting is so hard I know, have you been told what block you will be viewing? I hope you get in soon to have a look at them. If you dont get parking you could always rent a car space. Its also great to have the luas stop right outside. Fingers crossed you'll get an apartment with parking. I was also told that if I want to get the apartment pre-wired it would cost an extra €2,000.

Cheers, Yeah really looking forward to moving in though they say it won't be ready till March 09.Think she says it's in block D. I'm gonna give them a ring in the morning and try to fish some more info so i'll keep you posted. I want to check if you can buy a space at a later stage.
