Do I need to declare an occupational injury benefit on my tax return if I received it but later repaid it to the Department of Social Protection? It is prepopulated on my income tax return. I work in the civil service my employer paid me while I was out of work due an accident at work.
I recieved a claim and part of this claim deducted the occupational injury benefit I recieved automatically and sent it to DSP, now doing my income tax return it shows should I leave it or delete it?

Any adivce would be much appreciated. Thanks

If it's prepopulated on the form then surely you are declaring it by default (and don't have a choice in the matter?) which I think is the correct approach.
Injury Benefit is taxable but you are unlikely to pay tax if it is your only income.
