obligation when selling a house?

A housing estate is under construction in the area where I live. Sadly, recently one of the construction workers committed suicide in one of the partially constructed houses. Is there any obligation on the developer to inform potential buyers about this? My neighbour seems to think there is.

I shouldn't think so, it won't affect the structure of the house so why would he be under obligation to reveal it?

I suppose that perhaps it could be considered a crime scene? If further investigations were required would the new owners may have to allow access to the house?

If the scene is to be preserved that long, the house won't be built let alone sold within that timeframe so there is hardly much to worry about - unless you are the builder.

i think so... the reason being that you can't be sued for trying to stop someone doing it.....

eg. its my right to kill myself , so you have to give me money for the rest of my life becuase you dragged my out of the burning car...

No, it was decriminalised in Ireland in 1993 (and in NI in 1963).

I think there is an obligation on estate agents in England to notify if there has been an unusual death in a house there are selling. Don't know exactly what the terms of the legislation but it is a legal requirement.
