Wrong forum O2 contract

Hello

I visited an O2 store about two months ago with the intention of moving from bill phone to prepay because I was finding the bills a little high.

After speaking with the sales representative he suggested that I try a different tariff because I wasn't getting the full benefits from the current tariff. I decided to try the new tariff and said that I would see how I got on. The new tariff was still just as expensive so I went back to O2 to cancel my bill phone and was then told that I had entered a new contract when I moved tariffs and that I'd have to stay with them for another year in contract. I'm being honest when I say that I didn't know this was the case and I wasn't advised of this when I originally went into them. If I had known this I wouldn't have taken on the new tariff - this wouldn't have made sense to me as I had intended cancelling the bill option in the first place. I've been on bill phone for years and I really feel I've been misfairly treated. I asked O2 to remedy this and they refuse to do so.

They said that they sent me out a letter advising me that I had entered into a new contract but I didn't receive this.

Any advice on this would be welcome as I really don't want to stay in this O2 contract.
