NY dog magazine folds

Did anyone read the article about John Ryan in the Culture section of the Times yesterday?

Some of it seems very nasty- this was written last year.

Is this another case of Irish people being happy when other Irish people fail? Who is this guy John Ryan? I have never heard of him - I must be so out of touch.

He was instrumental in starting a number of (mostly failed as far as I know) magazines/publications here in Ireland before moving to NY and starting two (?) specialist pet dog publications (which failed). He was/is (?) the author of www.blogorrah.com.
