NUI Galway Irish exam for job application

Hi all,

Can anyone tell me what the Irish language exam for job applications to NUI Galway is like? There is a written and oral exam. I'm wondering what standard of Irish is required.

If you have Honors Leaving Cert Irish you should be ok. My daughter did that exam afew years ago and past it. It was for a 12 month's contract job which she got but has since moved on.

I know someone who did it recently. His irish was not great but he did watch TnaG a lot and we spoke irish to help his fluency. there was some comhra as gaeilge about the job, but also a general conversation to test overall irish vocabulary.
Good idea to practice the conversation, learn a few choice phrases and learn how to twist the conversation to something you are comfortable with, and you can word drop!
