Nuclear Power

what about biogas plants.I heard some Prof McConnell (i think thats his name) talking last week on radio about nordic & german cities running on energy created from raw sewage. Is this feasible? How do other countries do it, can we copy??

The nimbys would love that! A raw sewage plant in their back yard. It'd be even more unpopular that nuclear methinks.

The prof is working on a good book there. The level of argument is simple enough but the power of bringing some basic arithmetic to the debate helps to clear away a lot of the rubbish that is talked. He'll have to refine some of his assumptions but the laws of physics will remain a constant. As he admits on his blog he's not accounting adequately for all the energy that goes into the production of imported goods. This book needs to be put into the hands of policy makers.
